Star-The Miracle Dog !!!

Malta - The severely abused dog is not from the United States - in fact she is thousands of miles away in Malta. But that means nothing to those who are outraged by what happened to her.

Star was found buried alive...her muzzle was bound with twine and she had been shot 40 times with a pellet gun.

Somehow, despite her many serious wounds, she managed to get her nose above ground - enough to be seen - enough to be saved.

The hunt for Star's abuser(s) is now underway.

A Facebook page for Star has been created - it is serving to band together those concerned about animal welfare - in a way, her story is spurring on those from around the world, much like Patrick, the Pit bull starved to the brink of death in New Jersey.

Already, over 19,000 "fans" have joined Star's page. The page's title is simple "Star: the dog who lived".

Shared on the Facebook page from the animal welfare people that helped to save the severely abused dog,

according to a report by Times of Malta
"Star, (that's the name which she deserves!) showed what a courageous caring, sweet, loving companion she is. She immediately allowed all the Animal Welfare staff to cuddle her and she even managed to wag her tail as if wanting to thank everyone!," the Animal Welfare Department said.
"Star is living it up to her name already and is doing her very utmost to make it through this heartbreaking situation...Even though Star witnessed and lived all this cruelty from a human being she never even spared us a menacing look or a growl – she just looked at us in gratitude!!!!!"


Authorities are pleading for anyone with information to step forward and help to identify the individual responsible. Anyone having information on the case may contact the police on 2122 4001 or to the Animal Welfare Offices on 25904132 / 25904113 or by email animalwelfare.mrra@gov.mt.

Star, nor any other dog, should ever have to endure such abuse. But now she is safe and loved - with thousands of supporters who want nothing more than to see her live a life of happiness and love.
