Man dives into canal to save abused puppy

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- A small puppy in Florida was the victim of ahorrific case of animal abuse.
A Good Samaritan stepped in - and dove in - when he saw that the dog needed help.
The man said a group of teenagers were behind the dog's terrible treatment.
He said he saw them throw the dog into a canal while it was wrapped in a plastic bag, with a brick tied to its back leg to weigh it down.
"I couldn't believe what they were doing, so I throw myself inside the canal, take the dog out, remove it out of the bag and remove the brick from he dog," Carlos Torres said. "That is a sweet dog. I had her at my house the whole day before I took her to the doctor, and it's just horrible what kids are doing these days."
A doctor found that the dog's femur and kneecap were completely shattered.

The dog is set to undergo surgery to repair that back leg.
