Feeding Raw Eggs

Hi All,

I am wondering if we can feed raw eggs to dogs.I believe that it is a good source of protein that can be quickly digested, but can you feed this to a puppy ??

Yes, it is ok to give a dog a raw egg. It doesn't hurt them. Most people who feed a raw diet feed at least one raw egg a week complete with shell. If giving a raw egg grosses you out then boil it, scramble it,poach it before feeding.

We never tried raw egg..but we always give our mastiff a boiled egg

Egg is the most highly digestible protein there is, it is consdiered the gold standard to which all other ingredients are measured. It's also very palatable for dogs that are not good eaters, senior dogs for example. We used to mix a raw egg in with my old poodles dog food, and occasionally she would get a scrambled egg.

My friend has been feeding his Dog raw eggs everyday. He likes them. Now his dog is sick and we don't know what is wrong with him. He wont' eat much dog food anymore, but he likes those eggs . Maybe he has bacteria? What do think?

I think your friend need to take his dog to a vet for check up...
I don't think the raw egg is the big cause...but I am not also sure with that...
So better take the dog to the vet to know the real cause of its sickness...

Anyway my father also feed our dog raw eggs...
and they are in good condition...still now...^_^

Well I never Give Raw Eggs to my dog I always Fear of problems of salmonella poisoning

I always give mine scrambled eggs when ever I make one for my self..but off course with out any salt or pepper.
