Which is good..Dry or wet food ??

When I first got my dog I started of with dry food but soon she stopped eating her food..so we started mixing wet food to the dry kibble..she would only eat the wet food and spit out the dry food. Since then we have been giving her only wet food. Is it ok to give her only wet food ? What are pro's & con's on feeding only wet food.

I feed my dogs dry food and during weekends I mix some wet food with there dry kibble. dry food helps to keep your dog's teeth healthy by removing plaque and tartar, The same cannot can be achieved with vet food.

I would have to agree with get_cusp..Dry food really helps your dog's teeth to be in good shape. I think the other pro's & con's are, storage of the dry kibble is much easier than wet food as it does not require refrigeration after opening. Also, when it comes to cost even a good premium quality dry food will be at a much reasonable price than wet food. I would suggest you start her back on dry food and may be give her wet food once a week or something. Initially she might be hesitant to go back to dry kibble but don't panic..once she is hungry she will go back eating dry food..I had a smilar issue with my dogs and I could get them back to dry food in two weeks.

Dry food does help their teeth become stronger and helps with build up. However, both dry or wet should be of good quality ingredients. Products with by-products and fillers both can cause a loose bowel which is not good. Life Abundance has a dry and wet food. I give my dog the wet more as a treat than her everyday meal.

I agree, when I worked at the vets office as a tech we constantly had dental problems with dogs that were fed exclusively on wet canned foods. At home we only fed wet when our senior poodle got really old and her appetite diminished.
