No, Never thought about micro-chip. My dos is a 11 year old rescue who stays indoors pretty much all the time.

I think that $50 is a good estimate for an average cost. Regardless of what chip you go with, make sure that your information is registered. With some chips like AVID or Home Again, you need to pay an additional fee for your information to be registered.

I currently have 5 wonderful doggy friends (4 are rescues) and 2 catty buddies (both rescues) and everyone is micro-chipped. Even my African Grey parrot has a chip. It's the easiest way to ID them...God forbid...anything happens.
